Dead Lifting is the Ultimate Strength Test

Started training hard for powerlifting competition. Using just a belt and raps on wide stance squats in the monolift. I”m using bands as well Which I believe is important in getting ready to using the double ply suit. The reason for this is that the double ply will give me lots of stoping power down in the hole but I will have to generate lots of horsepower to lock the weight out So I need to train and get used to the bar getting much heavier as it comes up.  It”s much different with the single ply which gives you more rebound and over comes the needed to generate more power at the lock out.

I did a strength test with the Dead lift with 320kg for 3 reps. I had a twinged back from Squatting heavy and had wanted to go to 340kg but could not generate any power off the floor. I also tested my new alternatiing Hook grip that worked well. The Dead lift is always my main test for strength. My big focus will be on generating explosive power off the floor and strong upper back lockout. I’ll post as I progress
