2016 APF Florida State Championship

I just finished the 2016 APF Florida State Championship in Orlando, FL.  I competed in this meet last year.  That was my first ever meet.  Hard to believe it has been a year.  I have learned so much this year and have met so many great people.  I came into this meet with the same goal I do every meet, “Do better on each lift than the last.”  Pretty simple.

The day started off with squats.  I was able to get a PR of 138 but missed 148 on my third attempt.  I lost my balance.  But I was still happy about the 18 pound gain I made on my best meet squat.  Next was the bench.  Everything felt good and went great, I went 3 for 3 and hit a 99 pound bench.  I had never even got this in the gym.  The last lift was the deadlift.  This is usually my best lift but my form got off for some reason.  I got a meet PR of 178 on my second lift and missed my third at 188.  It was short of my goal of 200 but I am OK with it.  I will get it before I turn 13.

I took first in the raw 13-15 teen division in the 97 pound class.  Next up will be Nationals in May.

I would like to thank Metal for their support throughout the year.  It is the best powerlifting company out there.  I love the wrist wraps.  I would also like to thank Brian Schwab for putting on this meet.
